10th Grade

Welcome to Vista High School! We are excited you are now a part of our Panther family! Below are a few things to get yourself acquainted with high school life and to help your succeed during your four years at VHS. Should you have any questions please contact your counselor!

Sophomore Plan for Success...

  • Meet your counselor! We are located in the main office and are happy to have you stop by!
  • Check the counseling website frequently to stay up-to-date on events and information.
  • Check your grades on Aeries Parent/Student portal regularly. Progress reports and report cards are not mailed so we are counting on you to be logging in to check your grades weekly.
  • Start your personality, career and college exploration in Naviance. If you have not already, sign up for your Naviance account.  Use your 9 digit Student ID number as your Username and your 8 digit Date of Birth for your password.
  • Manage your time wisely and learn the art of balancing your academics and personal life!
  • Stay on top of your homework and see your teachers for extra help. Free after school tutoring in the library after school is available with Panther After Hours.
  • Get to know your teachers and make sure to ask for any additional help if needed.
  • Attend your in-class grade-level counseling presentations and ask questions!
  • Create your Four Year Plan.  Make an appointment with your counselor if you want assistance with creating a plan.
  • Play a sport, join a club, and be active in our Panther community!
  • Tenth graders are encouraged to take the PSAT in October. Taking this test early on in high school will help you become familiar with the content and give you the experience of taking a standardized test.  Interested in information about upcoming changes to the PSAT and SAT?  Visit
